Tonight we read Luke chapters 3 & 4

What a great study tonight was!!
Tonight I learned that Jesus's road in His ministry wasn't easy, wasn't without obstacles and problems, but he pressed on anyway. Reminds me that if my purpose is big enough and my faith constantly renewed and strong enough, my life will seem like a cake walk compared to Jesus's walk. Jesus was without food, was rejected, was tempted, was tested, had a family member he dearly loved go to jail, yet he still pressed on. Do we have a purpose that Big? Shouldn't we? How else do we hang on during the harder times of our life without it? Its how Jesus did it right?

  2. John 1:5 and the light shines in the darkness and the darkness did not comprehend it…
The darkness of evil has never and will never be able to extinguish the light of God…and those of us that are Christians have this light shinning in and through us… We are a light unto a dark (Sinful) world. HE lights the path for us so we can show others the way to Him.
I never put together that the John that wrote this Gospel was not John the Baptist. John who wrote the Gospel was an Apostle the son of Zebedee and brother of James called a “son of thunder”. John the Baptist was a Prophet, Jesus (Distant) Cousin, son of Zacharias and Elizabeth. (Mary and Elizabeth were related).

    John 2: 1-10
I Love that his first miracle was turning water to wine at a wedding celebration! And it was Good Wine!
My thought on this is that the church and Christians by extension are the Bride and Christ is the Bridegroom. His first Miracle was to make sure the party did not end too early and to bring out the Good stuff later! The Wine he made was better than the wine they had. How true for us in our lives, that Christ lets us run things out but when we need it, he steps in and fills the need with something even better.

    John Chapters 1 & 2

John chapter 1, verses 1-5 has an extremely powerful message. It reads, “1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome[a] it.” Basically, this is the beginning, the creation, the initialization, the start and God is central to it all. God is the beginning, the creation, the initialization, the start, the core.

In the following verses, John testifies about Jesus and other Disciples become curious and follow Jesus and ask him questions. This shows how important testimony is and how some people believe without question and others are skeptical and require proof. The interesting thing about this is that the more sound proof did not come until much later on, but those who believed in Jesus from the start saw examples over and over that proved their faith. One example is John 2 Verses 1-10 when Jesus turned the water into wine. The disciples were witness to this event and yet the others who drank the wine did not know where it came from. Their eyes and hearts were open and they saw the miracle, while the others who drank the wine assumed it was just fine wine.

  4. What I got last night was that He created everything, He knows everything, He can do anything, so why does it take so much for us to TRUST HIM!!!!??
